Soy-Braised Kabocha Squash

October 23, 2017

Soy-Braised Kabocha Squash_top This time of year, I can’t go to the grocery store or farmers’ market without coming home with some type of winter squash. Acorn, butternut, delicata – I love them all. They’re decorative and delicious, whether stuffed, roasted or puréed….

Two Easy Salads (from Postcards From Greece)

August 10, 2017

Beetroot Salad What do you do when your coworkers surprise you with a new cookbook for your birthday? Take a day off and use it! At least that’s what I did – and was more than pleased with the decision….

Glazed Chioggia Beets

July 2, 2017

Image of glazed Chioggia beets from the top. What a fun long weekend! I took Friday off to mess around in the kitchen. Recently, the scent of maple syrup and bacon filled the air – and I immediately craved brunch fare. But I digress. As you can probably guess, this post has little to do with the first (and most important) meal of the day….

Roasted and Marinated Beets with Fromage Blanc

March 18, 2017

Image of roasted and marinated beets with fromage blanc. I don’t know about you, but I love beets. So I picked up three big bunches from Capay Organic at the California Avenue Farmers’ Market last Sunday. Some I piled atop lettuce, and the rest I used to prepare this mixture of roasted and marinated beets….
