Accidents are par for the course when you’re working in the kitchen. Pasta boils over, sauces curdle, cake sticks to the pan. Fortunately, if you’ve spent years recreating recipes, you learn to improvise when things don’t go as planned. And in more cases than not, the finished product, while perhaps not picture perfect, is palatable if not delicious….
Lemony Orzo Pasta Salad with Tomatoes, Olives and Bacon
I took Friday off and somehow the long weekend still flew by. I didn’t even do anything out of the ordinary – ran a few errands, did a load of laundry, baked, cooked, picked up a few things at the Burlingame Farmers’ Market and walked around the Burlingame on the Avenue festival while we were there. It was a relaxing yet somehow busy few days….

I certainly didn’t expect any of it – but am grateful for and giddy about the gifts. (I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t jumping up and down in excitement like a kid on Christmas morning at one point.)…
Spinach-Turkey Meatballs
I can’t believe it’s been more than a month since I made these spinach-turkey meatballs – part of a dinner spread I prepared for my husband and two friends. (Where does the time go?) It was a last-minute menu addition to ensure we had enough food to go around….
