Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

August 10, 2014

Mediterranean Quinoa Salad Don’t tell Rookie, but I’ve been obsessed with corgis lately. It started when I noticed a corgi pup with its owner during my morning walk a few weeks ago. I could see the tiny barrel of brown and white fur rolling around in the grass from afar. So cute! And then I discovered the silliest – and smartest – corgi on YouTube….

Farro Salad with Fava Beans, Peas and Arugula

July 13, 2014

Farro Salad with Favas, Peas and Arugula Our trip to Wine Country went by in a blink. In two days, we crammed in tastings at V. Sattui Winery and Heitz Cellar, dinner at Morimoto Napa and Mustards Grill, and countless trips to Oxbow Public Market (at my insistence). Napa Valley truly is a foodie’s dream. Mediterranean Orzo Pasta Salad

May 26, 2014

Mediterranean Orzo Pasta Salad What a fun and relaxing Memorial Day weekend. My husband and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary and had a delicious meal at 31st Union – a serendipitous discovery in our backyard. (Our last-minute attempt to make dinner reservations at two other local restaurants failed and so I suggested this farm-to-table eatery, which I stumbled upon while looking for alternatives online.)…

Sautéed Potato Salad With Maple-Balsamic Vinaigrette

April 23, 2014

Sauteed Potato Salad With Maple-Balsamic Vinaigrette I’ve already told you about my aversion to gluey and bland potato salad so I won’t bore you with details as to why this potato salad is superior. All you really need to know is that rather than boiling plain old Russets, this recipe starts by frying Yukon Golds in bacon fat. I said it, bacon fat….
